Rocking the quiet life

Adrian and Olivia Worswick, I bumped into today, I just had to stop and ask Adrian for a photo, he was rocking a great look, and no he is not a famous rock star, even though he has been stopped numerous times with that same question. Olivia told me she moved to England at 15years old. She now runs a marina in Northwich, also tells me she is a descendant of Breifne ORourke, a once famous Irish clan from Leitrim. Originally comes from Ballingarry, Tipperary, not far from Kilkenny. They both made a decision to live in a narrow boat, and they love it, the slower pace of life, literally, the highest speed of four miles an hour, but it is a great lifestyle. They are over to visit Olivia’s mother in Mohill, Leitrim, and decided to spend a little time in Longford on their travels. Adrian, a keen photographer himself, tells me Cheshire is a great place to visit, visible history, from Roman times, and much more. Nice couple hope they had a good time in Longford and back in Ireland

Local heroes

Quickly on the scene the Longford fire brigade, tackled a very serious fire at a thriving café restaurant called Esquires at the N4 Axis Centre Longford Town. a very busy part of town, Mc Donald’s drive through close by, who in turn stopped that service straight away for obvious safety concerns. The local Garda also quick at scene cordoned of the surrounding area, as the local fire crew tackled the blaze. One of the firemen mentioned a backdraft of fire as they first went in, first time to experience the real thing, but they were well prepared to face it with all the modern equipment, and

they had it under control in good time and made safe. Well done to the lads for there dangerous work, they never know what exactly they walk into, but they still walk in fair play local heroes
